Peter Schwartzman, President
Peter is a founding member of the Knox Prairie Community Kitchen and has been a Board member since its inception in 2011.
Kim Brannon-Sibley, Treasurer
Kim has volunteered with the KPCK since 2019 and became treasurer in 2021.
Myrna Benson, Board Member
Myrna began volunteering with the KPCK in October of 2012 but has been a Board member for the past four years.
Odette Jackson, Board Member
In 2014, Odette began volunteering with the KPCK, helping with the dining service. A year later, she was seated as a Board member and now heads our kitchen crew.
Joyce Taylor, Board Member
Joyce has been a longtime volunteer with the KPCK (over 8 years) and is an invaluable member of the kitchen crew as well as a member on the Board.

The Knox Prairie Community Kitchen's Board of Directors is fully comprised of volunteers who dedicate their time, energy, and resources to helping the KPCK fulfill its' mission. They not only actively participate at the dinners but they are also involved in promoting the KPCK through fundraising, speaking on behalf of the organization, advertising via various media formats, and in making financial or general decisions for the betterment & benefit of the KPCK.
The Board, also, has three main legal duties:

Duty of Care: Take care of the nonprofit by ensuring prudent use of all assets, including facility, people, and good will;

Duty of Loyalty: Ensure that the nonprofit's activities and transactions are, first and foremost, advancing its mission; Recognize and disclose conflicts of interest; Make decisions that are in the best interest of the nonprofit corporation; not in the best interest of the individual board member (or any other individual or for-profit entity).

Duty of Obedience: Ensure that the nonprofit obeys applicable laws and regulations; follows its own bylaws; and that the nonprofit adheres to its stated corporate purposes/mission.
